Happy Thanksgiving!

A Note From Your Publisher

By Stephanie Grick, Morgantown Macaroni Kid Publisher November 27, 2019

It's one of the favorite holidays around, Thanksgiving! Food aside, I enjoy this day because it is a time, of course, to remember all that we have to be thankful for!

I sit here writing this to you 38 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby, a great blessing and something my family is oh so thankful for! But even when we have these gigantic blessings and things to be thankful for in our faces, they often get overshadowed by the "bad things" going on in our lives at the time.  This week has been quite a bumpy road for my family so far.  My husband's car broke down on his way home from work on Monday evening. Yesterday, while I was at a meeting with our only vehicle, my son's face and a wooden swing collided resulting in a trip to urgent care and 3 stitches.  Needless to say, I was feeling a little *blah* about how things were going.

But as I think over these things I have so much to be thankful for in these situations.  I am thankful that a friend of ours was able to go and pick up my husband when he was stranded without a way home.  I am thankful that the swing didn't hit my son in the head, which most likely would have led to more severe injuries, and that he was oh so brave as he got his stitches.  I am thankful that my family even has one working car (and as I write this, I found out my husband's car is fixed and ready for pick up, yay!) to get us to where we need to go.  There are always things to be thankful for in our lives, no matter what is going on.

I'm sure there are some of you reading this who have MUCH bigger and more difficult circumstances that are less than ideal that you are going through.  Maybe it's the loss of a job or loved one, you are short on money and aren't sure how you are going to pay the bills, whatever it may be.  Even in the deepest, darkest, hardest times of my life, finding the small things to be grateful for is what has helped me through.

I hope you and your family have a lovely time together remembering all that you have to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving,
